How to Delete Pages from a PDF (Free, No Software to Install)
You have a PDF with a page too many: a blank page from the scanner, an instructions page you don't need to send back, a duplicate, or a page with details the other person shouldn't see. Here's how to remove it for free, in your browser.
How to delete a page from a PDF
1. Open the PDF. Go to a free PDF page remover and choose your file, or drag it onto the page.
2. Open the page list. Press Pages. You'll see your pages in order.
3. Delete the page. Go to the page you want to remove and press the Delete the page button. (On a computer, hover over the small buttons to see what each one does.)
4. Repeat for any other pages. Deleted the wrong one? Press Undo (Ctrl+Z, or ⌘Z on a Mac) to bring it back.
5. Download. Press Download edited PDF. You get a new copy with "-edited" added to the file name. Your original file stays as it was.
Deleted really means deleted
When you delete a page this way, the new PDF is written without it. Nothing of that page is left in the file.
That's different from hiding part of a page under a white or black box. A box only covers what's underneath, and the text below it is still in the file. So if a page has information you don't want to share, deleting the whole page is the safe option.
Keep only the pages you need
There's no separate "extract pages" step: to keep, say, pages 2 and 3 of a 10-page PDF, delete the others and download what's left. Because the original file isn't changed, you can do this several times to make different versions.
Fix the other pages while you're there
The same page list can also:
- rotate a page that was scanned sideways or upside down (Rotate the page 90° clockwise)
- reorder pages with Move the page up and Move the page down, or by dragging a page with the mouse
- add a blank page after the current one
- add the pages of another PDF, for example to put a signed page back into the full document
Deleting pages on your phone
It works the same way in Safari or Chrome on an iPhone or Android phone. Open the PDF, open Pages, delete the pages you don't need, and tap Download.
Good to know
- Printed page numbers don't change. If the pages have numbers printed on them ("Page 3 of 10"), deleting a page won't renumber the others, because that text is part of each page.
- Password-protected PDFs work if you know the password. The new copy keeps the same password.
- Big files are fine. PDFs up to 100 MB can be opened.
- It's free and private. There's no account and no watermark, and the PDF is opened and saved in your browser rather than uploaded to a server.
